SOLID HARDWOOD FLOORS
Solid hardwood flooring consists of planks of real hardwood. The exact look and feel of the wood will give your floor a unique character, so it’s important to give the tree species some thought (see below).
Besides its great appearance, hardwood flooring has other key advantages. When properly cared for and maintained, hardwood is one of the most durable flooring materials available. Most small scratches or scuffs will not penetrate the finish, leaving the wood untouched. Should something happen to the underlying wood, your floor can be completely refinished, which will remove scratches, scuffs, stains and discolouration. A refinished floor looks brand new! Most solid hardwood floors can be refinished ten to twelve times over their lifespan.
Hardwood is also an all-natural product, and most solid hardwood on the market is now sourced sustainably. Dust, dirt, hair and other irritants have no place to hide on a wood floor, making it a great choice for those with allergies.

How much will my hardwood flooring cost?
Every job will have its own unique cost, depending on the home and your needs and preferences as a customer. As a rough estimate, we typically quote in the range of $3 – $8 per square foot, but we would love to have an individual conversation about your requirements and provide you with a free quote.
Are engineered hardwood floors worth it?
Based on our intense positive feedback over the last two decades, the answer is “Yes!” as far as we’re concerned. The unique advantages of a product with the appearance of solid hardwood at a more affordable price, all while being equally or even more durable make it easy for us to recommend them. Ultimately the choice is yours, but we would love to convince you!
How long does hardwood last?
While this ultimately depends on the wear out on the floor and the level of care, thinner engineered hardwood floors are estimated to last 20-30 years, while thicker hardwood lasts closer to 40-80.
